Social everywhere? Good agreements provide for good working conditions
“Sharing is caring?” Your employees @ social media
From snaps, to a Whatsapp message to adding a photo to your instastory… Nowadays, there are so many possibilities to share your life with the world. The future of social media doesn’t look particularly boring, certainly not if no rules are drawn up… Various members of ours have already been confronted with inappropriate use of social media on the workfloor.
Just imagine….
- One of your employees takes a photo of a product that hasn’t been launched yet and posts it on social media;
- Meanwhile, another employee shares with the world how your product is being made, including the proprietary recipe;
- While yet another posts a discussion between a head of quality control and a lab technician online;
- Not to mention the person who lost their rag with a consumer, on behalf of your company, on your company Facebook page, only to delete all traces of it afterwards…
You can imagine what kind of impact such posts could have on your company’s image.
3 tips!
Crisis communication 2.0
When a crisis occurs, you can reap the fruits of your social media policy. On the one hand, your employees are aware of what they can and can’t do on social media. On the other hand, they can spread your message even further. In times of a crisis, employers and employees pull together.
Food Security helps my company by:
- Organising a social media policy workshop. The first session was a huge success. The French-language session will be on 19/04 in Namur. If there is sufficient interest, we’ll organise another Dutch-language session.
- Surrounding ourselves with experts who can provide you with feedback on your policy and tell you what could do with improving.
- Providing advice on your approach or reaction to concrete incidents.
